Inertia Productions is a collaborative not-for-profit theatre company based in New York City.

Mission :

To "evolutionize" the world of contemporary American theatrical storytelling in order to illuminate our community's empathetic understanding of the human condition. 

Our Vision for the future of our company is to:

•Be a financially responsible organization fairly supporting the artists we employ, and an example to new and emerging arts organizations in New York City.

•Create, produce, and perform physically compelling, original and mythical theatre productions, which challenge and inspire our community to evolve toward a more empathetic understanding of the human condition.

•Reach out to develop a deeply connected relationship with the community of New York by giving services, funds, and emotional support to those in need and in doing so introduce or reawaken their awareness of the necessity of art in everyday life and the healing it provides to the human soul.

•Redefine the world of physical theatre by infusing a highly physical performance style with a deep emotional truth of human experience through an evolutionary exploration of the art of storytelling and the craft of acting.

•Create theatrical events, which take artistic risk and shed a reflective light on the nature of human experience in our current world, while maintaining a deeply rooted foundation in the exploration of the human condition throughout time. In this way we seek to discover and sound an original artistic voice for our community.

Our Vision of Media in performance:

The realization of the idea, of the story, of the structured plot, can only be fulfilled by a balanced dialogue between the programming, the equipment, and the performer. This conversation can be understood primarily through the fact that when one of these elements is omitted from the performance, the story has changed and cannot be replicated through any other combination of parties. Consequently, we are asked by this process to, first and foremost, know our story, our ideal imagined world. From there the multi-media technology is applied to achieve this ideal. Our imagination demands the implementation of today’s technology, and of creating new technology. This demand, however, makes it difficult to distinguish between storytelling and exploitive spectacle. For Inertia Productions, the story inspires technology; technology illuminates storytelling.
